Argaen is a character in Bastard's Wound.

A man clad in the frayed remnants of his Earthshaker uniform focuses intently upon dark stones held in cupped hands. His eyes move from one piece to the next. Argaen is a renegade Earthshaker, responsible for the defeat of a Disfavored recon party sent to retrace Cairn's steps. When the tide of battle started to turn, Argaen surrendered to the Wounders and doomed his former associates. The treatment of Disfavored and the constant reminder of a likely execution should any evidence of Cairn's treachery were found certainly played a factor.
Now he's apprenticed to Jaspos, learning how to manipulate and work stone and earth in a way the Earthshakers never could.
