Background

This shield was traditionally an object of ceremonial importance.

Champions of Azure carried it during times of cultural significance - the signing of treaties, declarations of war, meeting of diplomatic envoys and celebrations of past victories. Perhaps its most noted appearance was during the notorious Tarnished Flag incident of 289 TR, when a foreign delegation met on neutral ground and attacked the Azure representatives. The Azure Shield was raised to parry the assassination attempt, and all who stood behind it left the encounter unscathed.

Since the fall of Azure, the shield has passed through numerous hands, and presently reeks of Beastwoman musk.

Location

• Stone Sea: Carried by Red-Fang at the Gulfglow Oldwalls. In the Anarchist path, the Azure Shield is one of four artifacts which Bleden Mark want you to find.

Acquisition

• Disfavored path: Red-Fang is killed as part of Securing The Sea.
• Chorus path: Kill Red-Fang during Fangs and Fury.
• Anarchist path: Red-Fang will give you the Shield if you
  • kill the Earthshakers at Gulfglow Oldwalls (which saves you time as you'll need the Shard of Pure Azurelith from Basilon for The Conquest of Howling Rock) OR
  • kill her OR
  • demand that she hand over the artifact. This is possible only if you have "helped the Stonestalker tribe" (1 Favor, 0 Wrath, and doing all the side quests without harming any Beastfolk is enough), or are the new Prima.
• Rebel path: Kill Red-Fang during The Rise of the Earthshakers.
  • Note that you cannot acquire the Shield if your allies in the Stone Sea are the Stonestalkers.
