Jagged Remedy is a character in Tyranny.

Background[ | ]

The heavily-armored Crimson Spear is presently occupied using a sharpened piece of bronze on a self-inflicted wound in his forearm. He glances up at you and grimaces - from pain or from recognition, it's difficult to tell. Jagged Remedy began his life as a beggar drifting through the Tiers, and wound up being one of the first conscripts joining the Chorus thanks to Sirin's seductive song when she helped to recruit for the Chorus. His rise through the ranks was fast and brutal, starting with the murder of his overseer and claiming of his gang as Remedy's own. He got his name from his mastery of weapons for the Scarlet Furies and the tendency to teach and empower his underlings, rather than keeping them in line through fear.

Anatomy and human frailty in all forms fascinate him, and his interest extends beyond killing and into healing ... or at least, into some barbaric form of anatomical experimentation that approaches healing. He finds ending life so simple that the challenge of sustaining it is deeply intriguing to him. Leeches, hot iron brands, trepanation, and the draining of organs are all remedies he has been striving to master over the years. While his cures have saved a handful of lives, he kills many of his patients in the name of practice.

With the onset of the civil war between the Disfavored and the Scarlet Chorus, Jagged Remedy no longer needs to pretend to treat the Disfavored with any pretense of civility. This is good, for he has long been fascinated by the Disfavored’s endurance. It is a dream of his to see how much time it would take to kill a Disfavored soldier, or how long they could be kept alive. And if things go as planned, Jagged Remedy will soon get his chance to experiment with his methods of torture.

At the present, he is running the Blade Grave with his crew, the Putrid Rash gang. He has lost none of his sadistic tendencies and even Verse tends to be taken aback by his tendencies. Like that one time when she was running in his crew and took off when he started eyeing her - not for brutal satisfaction of his carnal urges, good heavens, no. He simply wanted to skin her and replace the lost flesh with wood and see how long she lives.

Quests[ | ]

In non-Chorus paths, Jagged Remedy and his men are hostiles. Betraying the Chorus here shortens your time at the Blade Grave, as the Chorus led you straight to Mattias and Irentis, allowing you to retrieve Dauntless and the Steadfast Insignia.

Chorus path
  • A Broken Chord: Jagged Remedy wants to conscript Mattias and his men. Naturally, doing so is positively impossible without the right... Motivator.
  • Making a Stand: Saved from the Disfavored attack, Remedy lowers the drawbridge for you to pass.
